Girl Education

Aasma’s Girl Education Programme (GEP) will focus on improving the conditions by which girls, especially those in the marginalized communities can access quality education. Education is an important tool that enables women and girls to participate in decisions that affect their lives and in improving their social status.

We will counsel parents from humble backgrounds to send their daughters to school and assist them through the admission process. We will set libraries and infrastructure right, conduct computer and English classes, promote and facilitate extra-curricular activities and sports.

We will work in local communities and ensure the development of the girls in the community and that even the most marginalized girl be sent to school and they stay there.

We will map out-of-school girls and ensure their enrollment into formal schools in age-appropriate classes.

For women, we will operate our own learning centres where women coming from the socially-excluded communities are provided learning andsupport.

Community Development

Community development will be a process whereby community members especially women and girls may come together to take collective action and generate solutions to common problems relating to women and girls prevalent in society. It will adopt a grassroots or a bottom up approach to finding viable solutions by the community for the various issues pertaining to women and girls. Participation of the community as a whole has to be an integral part for the programme to be sustainable.

Civil Women Force

This is the project where the Trust will create a Civil women Force out of the volunteers which will resolve or mediate the disputes related to women and girls to save the cost and time.

Women Self Defense Training

This Project of the Trust aims to protect the women and girls of villages and remote areas. Though the self-defense training is much easily available in metro cities of the country, it is not that common in tier-II or tier-III cities or in villages.

Through this project, trust will help women and girls to enroll themselves and learn basic karate, kick boxing and traditional stick fighting (using lathi) to protect themselves when needed.

Awareness Programmes

Time to time Trust will organize the Awareness programmes for the targeted group of women and girls where they can come and participate and learn about health, education, rights, career opportunities etc.
